Jessica (Jess)

Support worker

Outside of work, what is an interest/hobby you have?

Outside of work you will find me in the sunshine enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking and trips to the beach. I enjoy hiking and bush walking because I can explore new places, sceneries and meet new people. When the sun is shining I love to make the most of it by taking a trip to the beach, having an acai bowl on these trips is a must!

What is one of the things you do supporting our participants that gives you the most satisfaction?

Is that through my support, the independence of participants daily decisions, tasks and needs is upheld with respect and actioned with care and love. I show my support through these daily tasks and by simply listening and being present.

What is something that isn’t on your resume?

My confessed love for acai bowls. If you don’t know what an acai bowl is, basically it is a frozen fruit blended with fresh berries, granola and peanut butter on top… best enjoyed on the beach.

What initially drew you to the career path of support worker?

My long-term goal is to be an Intensive Care Paramedic and I am currently studying to achieve this goal. Being a support worker is a beautiful introduction to the support I will provide as a Paramedic.
