After owning a dog grooming business for 12 years, I wanted to up-skill into a new career. I have always been passionate about helping others, so I decided to do a CIII Individual Support – Disability. While studying my certificate, I secured employment as a support worker, which I have now been doing for the past two years.
I have found working in the disability industry very rewarding and even more so now than when I started as I have a good understanding of clients’ needs and their supports. Over time I became increasingly interested in learning about NDIS administration – how clients plan, and coordination were put together, and importantly, how best to support clients. I am currently studying my Diploma of Community Services which is broadening my knowledge about the sector.
In my spare time, I love going to the beach with my family, and I have a big passion for making jewellery. I also enjoy spending time with my pets, Rosie the standard poodle, Theo the dachshund, and Rocky the rainbow lorikeet.
